Green Transcodig

Eco and Data Center Friendly Transcoding

The RipCode transcoding appliance carries the video processing performance of up to (20) standard general purpose processor servers in a single rack unit. With a maximum power draw of 175 watts, the RipCode appliance typically utilizes less than 90 watts in normal operation. Combining consolidated, high concurrency processing into a single RU appliance, RipCode can dramatically reduce server hardware, storage and energy use for an eco-friendly transcoding solution.

RipCode is a firm believer that advances in technology should not only deliver improved customer benefits, but also minimize the energy footprint and environmental impact.

About the Green Grid

The Green Grid develops and promotes processes and new technologies to improve performance and lower power consumption in line with clearly defined industry standards. The emphasis is on education, member participation and a broad-reaching approach to energy efficiency, focusing on the data centre "power pillars" of technology, infrastructure and processes.

Comprising an interactive body of members who share and improve best practices, The Green Grid collaborates with end users and government organizations worldwide to ensure that each goal is aligned with both developers and users of data centre technology. All interested parties are encouraged to join and become active participants in the quest to improve energy consumption and reduce the impact of data centers on the environment.
